Pctures of a sunday devotional meeting on the temple site

SUNDAY 27TH MAY 2007

More than one hundred Bahais of Mauritius gathered this Sunday, 27th of May, for a devotional gathering on the TEMPLE SITE. Mrs. Sylvana Dholah, Secretary of the N.S.A., welcomed the friends on this special occasion and gave a brief history about the acquisition of the property. She informed those present that that the Baha'is had owned this land for over 30 years. Mrs Dholah was followed by Mr. Retnon Muree, retired N.S.A. member, who spoke of the historic acquisition of this temple land over 30 years ago. This occurred during the 9-Year Plan and the goal was entrusted to the N.S.A. of Iran.

Our N.S.A
Chairman, Mr. Balram Appadoo, gave a detailed explanation of the land, along with a site plan of future development.

.

The land is comprised of two plots of land, for a total of 16 hectares, located on an upper hill in a zone called "Paille". It was purchased for the total sum of 48 thousand rupees. Today's estimated value is more than 20 million rupees.

The devotional theme of today's event focused on the temple, and was accompanied with songs of Unity, including "Blessed is the Spot" and ended with a beautiful song about the Mashriqu'l-Adhkár ("House of Worship").

It was a very uplifting and memorable activity for all who attended. The children also were very touched by the event and they gathered to take pictures. Two of them, with melodious voices, offered two very beautiful songs for those gathered at the site.
